Philip studied at Loughborough College of Physical Education and after graduation started his career working as a sports teacher. Happily for Flog It! it turned out teaching wasn’t for him, so he embarked on his life as an auctioneer, selling livestock in Worcester!

It’s not just sports that turn Philip’s head, he’s a self-confessed petrol-head with a love of classic cars too.

From there, Philip went back to college and re-qualified as a chartered surveyor, specialising as a fine art and antiques valuer. He now runs his own auctioneering business from his saleroom in Malvern. Auctions help Philip indulge his other great hobby: collecting classic cars of all types. His pride and joy is a green Aston Martin bought by his father-in-law during the 1960s.

Philip admits his collecting habits go beyond cars, describing his house as ‘full of tat', including a few half decent bits, a wooden leg for a sheep, and an Edwardian optician’s board. Thankfully his finds on Flog It! don’t fall into this category!
