Dancepoint School was founded by choreographer Robert Hamilton in 2000 to offer high quality dance, acrobatic, aerial and performance-based training. The group aims to bring all aspects of dance, theatre and performance together, to create something the public would not have seen before.

Robert has performed in West End Shows such as Cats and Saturday Night Fever, but for the past 20 years has focused on the school. "I feel like I have great experience in the professional industry to pass on to my students," he says.

The group have been together for three months and all attend the school. They spend most of their time together, rehearsing five times a week. “We are like a family, our favourite thing to do is go to Nando’s,” says Paige, a member of the group.

The members believe they are not just dancing but putting on a show. They all have classes in drama, so they make sure to include that in their performances. “When we start choreographing a new piece we firstly work out what character we are playing and figure out the theme of the dance. It’s about telling a story,” adds Jordan, another member of the group.

Members can do a variety of dance styles including ballet, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, commercial and gymnastics.
