Denise McAdam

Session stylist and Royal hairdresser Denise McAdam began her career with a hairdressing apprenticeship at Greens Hair Salon, Edinburgh. At that time she attended Telford College to attain her City and Guilds in hairdressing.



Her strict and traditional training had ensured that she is a consummate professional, still practising those techniques today. Believing in the craft of hairdressing, Denise values her membership of over 25 years with the Fellowship of British Hairdressing.

Denise got her first big break styling hair for Princess Grace of Monaco – screen icon Grace Kelly. She moved to London a short time later, working full time at Michaeljohn's hair salon in Mayfair where she soon became a leading session hair stylist. Here she worked for leading glossy magazines such as Vogue, Brides, Tatler and many others. In fact, her work for Brides magazine led her to a Royal Bride - The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson.

Denise has worked with top photographers including as David Bailey, Norman Parkinson, Lord Snowdon and John Swanne.

Throughout her career as a Session Hair Stylist, Denise has worked with many iconic women and celebrities including supermodels Cindy Crawford, Yasmin le Bon and Naomi Campbell.

She was awarded the Royal Victorian medal by the Queen for services to the Royal Family.
