Vale is a contemporary group from Stockport made up of dancers from Vale Dance School. The school has been passed down through generations to the now owner and choreographer Emily Charlton.

"The school was founded by my great grandmother in her garage looking over the Vale woods, hence the name of the school. It was then handed down to my mum, who with the help of my grandma, built it up, and then I took over," Emily says.

This particular group of girls have been together for two years. They train five days a week and every day during school breaks, and the members take part in a Bootcamp workout once a week to keep up their strength and endurance.

The group of 16 members have won at the Dance World Cup in their category five years running and once received a score of 99.8.

"Strength is 100% the most important thing. We have them lifting tyres, using ropes and doing core workouts. It is full on! They are the most hardworking and committed group of dancers you will meet," Emily adds.

The members train in numerous dance disciplines including jazz, ballet, contemporary, commercial and musical theatre.
