Three England football fans have set up a petition calling for racists to be banned for life from all football matches in England. #TheThreeHijabis – as they call themselves – were responding to the shocking levels of racism directed towards Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho & Bukayo Saka on social media after their missed penalties resulted in England losing to Italy in the final of the Euros.

Within 48 hours, Shaista, Amna and Huda had over a million signatures on the petition and it’s still growing. They told Anita Rani why it was so important to them to call for action from the Government, social media companies and the FA.
