After the bomb dropped

Richard Feynman remembers when the atomic bomb he helped to develop was dropped on Hiroshima in August 1945. He admits that he shared in the collective excitement and celebration at the time. He says this posed a stark contrast to the people who were suffering and dying in Japan. He talks about being in New York after World War Two and imagining the devastation if an atomic bomb was dropped on the city. Feynman says it left him in a “depressive condition”.
