Tony has been fascinated by a radio since he listened to crackly shortwave broadcasts as a boy.
He started in hospital radio as a teenager.
"The show ran for eight years during which time I also set up my own cable station - broadcasting to the neighbours," Tony explains.
He got a job DJing in a Scandinavian club, then returned to the UK in the 70s working for a radio station in a biscuit factory.
"Over the years I've broadcast on various commercial and ±«Óãtv stations around the UK. In the mid 80s I regularly presented the early breakfast show on ±«Óãtv Radio 2," he says.
Tony now produces shows, including Gillham Gold, from his home studio, basing the content on his own collection of more than 5000 CDs which contain over 50,000 chart hits.
