Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music, including some tracks inspired by the Bard on Radio 3's Shakespeare Day. Featuring music that Gerald Finzi wrote for a production of Shakespeare's early comedy Love's Labour's Lost, Thomas Arne's setting of Juno's Blessing from The Tempest, and a classic duet from Bernstein and Sondheim's reworking of Romeo and Juliet, West Side Story. Frederic Mompou paints a musical portrait of the streets of Barcelona, Dvoƙák recalls Czech folk songs, Coleridge-Taylor writes sparkling music for clarinet quintet, and Bach makes the keyboard sing.
