The Telephone Hour

August 1997. Fuelling Monica’s frustration at being sidelined, Linda has her ask for incriminating aid and learns more of the young woman’s troubled love life.

August 1997. To marry her ‘moral outrage’ with material reward, Linda becomes an agent provocateur. An emotional Monica feels isolated and desperately let down, so Linda pushes her to seek Bill Clinton’s help securing a new job through his friend Vernon Jordan.

Linda starts to illicitly tape her near-nightly phone conversations with Monica. But they also meet in person, allowing Linda to cement her position as Monica’s closest confidante while being made privy to ever more personal details of Monica’s past.
