Not to Be Believed

Linda disconcerts Monica when she decides to make her voice heard. A settlement tempts Paula, and Matt Drudge stirs up the internet.

Through the mid-1990s the online Drudge Report has gradually moved from showbiz tittle-tattle into the political sphere. Would-be old-school 'newsman' Matt Drudge is looking for something to make his mark, and may have found it in the continued investigations of Bill Clinton’s harassment of women.

Also looking for attention is Linda, and the digging by Newsweek journalist Michael Isikoff into Kathleen Willey’s accusation is her stepping stone. Feeling caught in the crossfire, Monica is upset at her friend’s action, little dreaming how much bigger a betrayal is being considered.

The Supreme Court is unanimous in permitting Paula’s lawsuit to continue. As one of several politically motivated attacks and investigations against him and Hillary, Clinton must consider settling the case - which is not something his opponents want to see happen.
