Episode 6

Ben and Kate find out the dangers of a cracked tooth for a tiger and why the park’s bees are keeping an anteater happy. Jean referees a tortoise race and is surprised at the result.

There is high drama as Yana the tiger cracks a canine. It must be removed, but it’s not a simple procedure, and the anaesthetic doesn’t go to plan.

With the help of a bucket of water and a tiny camera, Kate sets out to answer a burning question– how does water get from the giraffe’s mouth, all the way down its long neck and into its stomach?

Ben meets one of the newest sets of animals to be introduced to the park –all 100,000 of them! He joins beekeeper Dennis at the beehives to collect some nutritious honey for a pregnant giant anteater.

Who won the race, the tortoise or the tortoise? Jean Johansson finds out that, when it comes to speed, the pancake tortoise doesn’t live up to the stereotype.
