Marty Stuart's Country Pickers

Country legend Marty Stuart with a personal guide to the greatest country musicians of all time.

Marty Stuart presents a personal selection of his favouite country musicians, with great playing from the likes of Bill Monroe, James Burton, Clarence White, Ralph Mooney, Luther Perkins and more. Additionally Marty looks at how the American West has shaped the sound and feel of country music, with songs from Buck Owens, The Maddox Brothers and Rose and his own Fabulous Superlatives.

Marty himself is one of country music's most acclaimed performers, a virtuoso player, singer and writer.

In addition to being a performer, Stuart is an avid collector of country music memorabilia. Some of these items were featured in the 2007 exhibition Sparkle & Twang: Marty Stuart's American Musical Odyssey at the Tennessee State Museum. He also served as president of the Country Music Foundation from 1994 to 2001.

An accomplished photographer, Stuart had some of his works published in the 1999 collection Pilgrims: Sinners, Saints, and Prophets. His images were also featured in 2007's Country Music: The Masters
