A special programme from the actor and historian John Nettles to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Channel Islands from German occupation.

A special programme from the actor and historian John Nettles (Bergerac & Midsomer Murders) to mark the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Channel Islands from German Occupation on May 9th.

Besides being a well-known actor - long associated with Jersey - John is also a keen historian and has published his own history of the Occupation of the Channel Islands and has produced a TV series based on his book.

This radio programme was recorded on location in Jersey, Guernsey and Sark using local people to recreate events during the Occupation and hearing from the remaining survivors from that time.

The programme was produced by Michael Chequer and Oliver Ings for ±«Óãtv Radio Jersey, and was first broadcast on Good Friday, 3rd April.
