Ronnie is released from prison, but will anyone be at the prison gates to meet her? Alfie explodes into a fit of rage when he finds out what Roxy has planned for Ronnie.

Ronnie’s release day is causing unrest. Kat tells Michael she’s fine and is certain Ronnie won’t be back in Walford. Jack tries to distract himself but Roxy reveals she’s bringing Ronnie back. She tries to discuss Ronnie with Alfie but is interrupted by Kat. Alfie overreacts when Kat leaves Tommy with Alice; admitting he isn’t good, but knows his Ronnie fears are irrational. Michael and Jack discuss Ronnie over a drink. Jack says he wants nothing to do with her. An unnerved Michael calls her an arch manipulator before Jack reveals she’s returning. Roxy tells Alfie she wants Ronnie to come back and maybe stay with Phil. He wants her to meet Ronnie but is adamant he can’t have her living across the road and asks her how she’d feel if it was Amy that had been taken. Sharon visits Jack after overhearing about Ronnie’s release. Kat confronts Roxy who soon gives in to pressure and doesn’t meet Ronnie. Ronnie leaves prison shocked to find that it’s not Roxy waiting for her - but Kat.

During a visit to Max, Jack reveals he is going to try to find the witness and Kirsty assures a worried Max she’s got everything under control with Lauren. Ian’s surprisingly nice when Carol is late for work and takes food from Scarlett’s round to No.5. He’s nervous when Kirsty and Dot discuss the witness. Panicking, he suggests to Carl he could tell the police he made a mistake and return to owing money. Carl threatens him, stating that Jack and Kirsty are the soft option compared to him. Ian tells Denise he’s the witness and presuming he’s telling the truth, she assures she’ll support him. Overhearing Denise confide in Kim, Kirsty realises Ian’s the witness.

Shirley quits her job at the Minute Mart to move to Greece tomorrow. Jean’s dismayed that she’s already bought her ticket after stealing Phil’s money. As Phil’s feeling up to visitors, Shirley heads to the hospital to boast of her plans, but interrupts Carl asking Phil what he remembers from the accident.
