Mary Peters: The Run of Her Life

Dame Mary Peters reflects on her 1972 Olympics gold medal-winning performance, where she beat Heide Rosendahl by a mere 10 points in the pentathlon, and set a world record.

Forty years ago Mary Peters set a new world record when she won gold at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. She beat her rival, Heide Rosendahl, by just ten points, and in doing so changed her life forever. As Dame Mary prepares to return to the stadium where she won Great Britain's only gold medal, she reflects on the journey that brought her success.
