War and Peace

Lavish adaptation of Tolstoy's novel concerning the complex story of two men's love for one woman, set against Napoleon's attempt to conquer Russia.

Adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's classic novel. Two aristocratic Russian families face conflict and upheaval as the nation prepares itself for a huge invasion by Napoleon's forces. Count Pierre Bezhukov, an intellectual and a pacifist, is in love with the beautiful Natasha Rostov. But she is considered too young for him so he marries another. As Napoleon's forces advance, Pierre's great friend Prince Andrei Bolkonsky joins the battle and fights with great honour. So begins an epic story of love, war and the fate of a nation.
