Pulp frontman and ±«Óătv 6music presenter Jarvis Cocker joins Richard Bacon for his Thursday afternoon programme 2-4pm in front of an audience at the Crucible Theatre to discuss his home city of Sheffield and the influences on his career.

Join Nicky Campbell for 5 live Breakfast: Your Call as he takes listeners’ calls on whether there’s a north / south divide in the cost of living, and how people are coping in the recession. At the Crucible Theatre.

The Verb (Radio 3): 11.30am-12.30pm

Ian McMillan presents this celebration of language and new writing. His guests include Charlie Higson, the writer and comedian behind ‘The Fast Show’ (he’ll be discussing the ‘The Sacrifice’, the latest in his series of zombie books for children), the writer Blake Morrison, best-known for his award-winning memoirs ‘And When Did You Last See Your Father?’ and ‘Things My Mother Never Told Me’, and the poets Luke Wright and Helen Mort.Â ï»żï»żAt the Crucible Theatre.

Colin Murray hosts a 5 live special live from the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield as part of Octoberfest, featuring some of the city’s leading sports stars. Plus England cricketers Jimmy Anderson and Graeme Swann also return to 5 live Sport for a special Octoberfest edition of Not Just Cricket, with top cricket chat and lots more besides.

Nick Clegg debate

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg will join ±«Óătv Radio 5 live at Octoberfest 2012 for a special one-off show hosted by Shelagh Fogarty.

The Deputy Prime Minister, leader of the Liberal Democrats and MP for Sheffield Hallam will face questions from 5 live listeners about the coalition government.

SATURDAY 13 OCTOBER

Fighting Talk (Radio 5 live): 10am-11am

FULLY BOOKED. Building on the success of a record breaking audience at Fighting Talk’s Big Day Out earlier this year, host Colin Murray is judge and jury in-front of a live audience. A panel of experts and sporting enthusiasts join him to try and win points-for-punditry on the week’s big sports stories. At the Crucible Theatre.

Mr Bloom (CBeebies): 11am, 12noon, 2pm and 3pm

FULLY BOOKED. Following a successful summer tour, Mr Bloom is packing up his allotment once again to come to Sheffield on Saturday 13 October as part of ±«Óătv Radio 5 live’s Octoberfest. Families will have the opportunity to watch a free live performance given by Mr Bloom and his Veggies in Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre as well as the opportunity to get “hands on” with nature and the environment. The event will feature a whole host of fun activities for children to get involved with, hosted by local partners. This free event is aimed at 3-6 year old children and their families and promises to be a great day out! At the Lyceum Theatre.

7 Day Sunday (Radio 5 live): 2pm-3pm

Join Al Murray and guests Nick Hancock, Andy Zaltzman and Justin Moorhouse for a re-recorded programme to air on Sunday 14 October as they pull part the week’s big stories to see what makes them tick. At the Crucible Theatre.

606 (Radio 5 live): 6pm-8pm

Robbie Savage hosts a special Octoberfest edition of 5 live’s original and best football phone-in, 606. At the Crucible Theatre.
