Your trust is very important to us. The ±«Óãtv is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using such information. This privacy notice describes how the ±«Óãtv collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

Why are we doing this and how can you participate?

World of Wisdom takes your questions to spiritual advisors from around the world for guidance on how to live a happier, more fulfilled life. If you have a question for them on how to live your best life, please contact us via the ±«Óãtv Uploader. If you’re selected, you’ll be invited to a zoom call with the production team. We will record an audio recording only of the session, we will not be recording any video or images.

The ±«Óãtv will collect your personal information for the purposes of administrating and broadcasting “World of Wisdom”. The ±«Óãtv production team will collect your personal information via an online platform used by the ±«Óãtv.

If your contribution is broadcast by the ±«Óãtv, this may include the programme and/or your contribution being available online and/or on demand, and your contribution may be used again by the ±«Óãtv in a future broadcast. 

What will we collect and how will we use it?

We will only collect data from you that is necessary for you to participate in the programme. You must be 18 or over to participate.

The ±«Óãtv will collect and process the following personal data about you:

• Your question and/or comment
• Your first and second names, (only first names will be used in the broadcast).
• Your email address
• Your country of residence
• Information regarding your work
• Your phone number

If chosen for the programme, the ±«Óãtv will collect and process the following during the recording:

• An audio recording of your voice to be aired during the broadcasted programme.

The ±«Óãtv may also collect, and process special category data depending on the content of your submission and details you provide us with. This might include for example: 

• Health related data â¶Ä¯â€¯â¶Ä¯â€¯â¶Ä¯
• Race or ethnicity data â¶Ä¯â€¯â¶Ä¯â€¯
• Religious or philosophical beliefs
• Sexual orientation/Sex life â¶Ä¯â€¯

Who is the Data Controller?

The ±«Óãtv is the 'data controller' of any personal information you send us (including your name and contact details, as well as any other information you have chosen to provide to us about yourself or another person). This means that the ±«Óãtv decides what your personal data is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. We will process the personal data you have submitted for the purpose of using it to produce World of Wisdom, and any related content, and providing ways for you to interact with us including asking questions of the team.

Lawful basis for processing your personal data

The legal basis on which the ±«Óãtv processes your personal data is on the basis of our legitimate interests in producing journalistic content. We accept contributions from people aged 18 and above. We carefully consider your interests, rights and freedoms when seeking to rely on our legitimate interests.

Any sensitive personal data that you choose to provide will be processed on the basis of the public interest in the ±«Óãtv producing journalistic content.

Sharing your data

We will share information you provide with relevant staff at the ±«Óãtv and any third-party suppliers who are involved and need to know the information for the purposes of production. Currently we use a third-party data storage provider to store the data collected through ±«Óãtv Uploader. All these third party suppliers only use your personal data on behalf of the ±«Óãtv and not independently of the ±«Óãtv.

We may also share personal data with a third party where required or permitted by law.

Retaining your information

The data you give us in your initial application will be securely stored by the ±«Óãtv. If you are not selected to participate in the programme, this data will be deleted after 21 days after submission. If you are selected to participate in the programme, this data will be deleted after 12 months of the broadcast.

Your data will be stored by the ±«Óãtv within the EEA and UK.

Your rights and more information

You can request a copy of the personal data ±«Óãtv stores about you. 

 â¶Ä¯â€¯ You have the right to ask for the personal data we collect about you to be deleted however there are limitations and exceptions to this right which may entitle the ±«Óãtv to refuse your request. â¶Ä¯â€¯
