The Girl in the Café - Tightrope Pictures

Tightrope Pictures was formed in late 2003 out of the successful ongoing collaboration between the multi award-winning writer Paul Abbott (Shameless, State Of Play, Clocking Off) and leading drama producer Hilary Bevan Jones (May 33rd, State Of Play, Butterfly Collectors).

Ìý

Tightrope's first executive role was for the production of To The Ends Of The Earth, a seafaring drama trilogy based on the classic novels by William Golding.

Ìý

Produced in conjunction with the ±«Óãtv and directed by David Attwood, the series will broadcast in 2005.

Ìý

The highly acclaimed drama Dad followed, written by Lucy Gannon and starring Richard Briers. This moving 90-minute television film was broadcast on ±«Óãtv ONE as part of this year's Comic Relief Campaign to highlight elder abuse.

Ìý

The Girl in the Cafe marks Tightrope's third major drama production.

Ìý

As well as new dramas by Paul Abbott, Tightrope Pictures is currently working on development projects with writers such as Guy Hibbert, Lucy Gannon, Lizzie Mickery and Tony Grounds.

Ìý

Hilary serves on the council of Bafta as the Chair of Television. In 2004 she was awarded the Sony Television Pictures International Contribution to the Medium award, at the Women in Film Awards.
