Concorde and the world-famous Red Arrows joined other jets of the RAF fleet in the skies above Norfolk to practise for the Golden Jubilee fly-past.

A total of 27 planes grouped off the Suffolk coast at 3.30pm destined for RAF Marham in Norfolk.

Flying at 1500ft, the formation flew over south Norwich, Old Buckenham, Shropham, Watton and Swaffham.

"It's been in the planning for about three months," said Sqn Ldr Charles Sandeman.

"The C-17 is the formation leader, where he goes the others follow.

"There's a two-mile gap between each of the elements which is about 20 seconds flying time."

The whole procedure lasted 25 minutes and was a practise run for Tuesday, June 4, when the aircraft flew over Buckingham Palace.

The Royal Family watched the display from the palace balcony.
