About our work

We are currently supporting Tele-Radio Moldova’s transformation from a state broadcaster to public service broadcaster. We aim to support managers, editors, journalists and producers by strengthening journalism and media knowledge and skills, so they can create informative, accessible and engaging news content and programmes.

This project is supporting the creation of a multimedia strategy for more effective sharing of content, to extend the broadcaster’s reach.

We are also working with Tele-Radio Moldova on training and mentoring focused on editorial strategy, diversity and inclusion, and safeguarding, as well as identifying opportunities to improve the broadcaster’s financial sustainability.

In partnership with Thomson Reuters Foundation, other journalism bodies and local and national media partners, we are also working in Moldova as part of our Eastern Neighbourhood programme, as well as in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

With programme teams in each country, we aim to provide organisational development support to professional journalism bodies in all four countries, strengthening media professionalism in all areas of the media eco-system.

We support audiences in these countries to have improved access to high quality, accurate, unbiased, and engaging content that tackles disinformation, stimulates debate, exposes corruption, and supports democracy, inclusion, and accountability in complex and politically fragile contexts.

Through our previous Independent Media in Eastern Partnership Countries project, we provided support to over 20 public interest media outlets across Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia and Moldova with editorial and technical skills and mentoring, as well as the provision of equipment, and offering viable business models to reflect the audiences’ needs.
