About This Event

The Bible has provided much fruitful inspiration to poets, novelists and composers over the past two thousand years. ±«Óătv Radio 3 New Generation Thinker Joe Moshenska, who teaches Milton at the University of Cambridge, discusses ideas of doom, chaos and Biblical themes with novelist Salley Vickers, whose novel Mr Golightly’s Holiday features God as protagonist. They look at the “weeping prophet” Jeremiah ahead of tonight's performance of Bernstein’s Symphony No.1, which sets texts from the Book of Lamentations.
