Calling all violinists!
Bring your violin and take part in a creative workshop led by violinists of the ±«Óãtv Philharmonic and special guest, solo violinist, Carolin Widmann.
A Q&A with Carolin will be followed by the opportunity to whip out your violin (whatever your ability) and play music inspired by Mendelssohn’s E minor concerto.
After the workshop, stay for the ±«Óãtv Philharmonic’s concert to hear Carolin perform that much-loved work in its entirety under the baton of Principal Guest Conductor Ben Gernon.
Journey Through Music concerts feature music that is particularly accessible for children. They include pre-concert events and programme notes written specially for a younger audience. The pre-concert events are a great opportunity for the entire family to get to know the music. Enjoy demonstrations from ±«Óãtv Philharmonic players, ask questions and you may even get to make some music yourselves.
The other concerts in the Journey Through Music series are: 8 December; 26 January; 9 March and 13 April.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Barbirolli Room at 6.15pm. Please be prompt, seats are first come first served. This session is recommended for ages 8 and above although younger children in family groups are welcome. Free to concert ticket holders - you do not need an additional ticket.
