Join us for the opening of the 鲍鱼tv SSO鈥檚 new season where Ryan Wigglesworth makes his debut as Chief Conductor. For his first outing he鈥檚 chosen one of the great ballet scores, Ravel鈥檚 'Daphnis and Chlo茅'. Dreamlike and seductive, it has a breathtaking, otherworldly beauty as it conjures visions of mythical Greek landscapes with an unrestrained sensuality.

No less reserved in his use of colour, Olivier Messiaen鈥檚 astonishing series of songs 'Po猫mes pour Mi' fuses the physical and spiritual into something unforgettable. As a composer himself, it鈥檚 not surprising that Ryan Wigglesworth has chosen a new work to herald his arrival, here in the shape of a piece by Jonathan Woolgar, winner of 2010鈥檚 鲍鱼tv Young Composer.
