Programme

Concert information

Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto is a special favourite of violinist Kristóf Baráti – himself a favourite of ±«Óãtv SSO audiences, and it’ll provide the warmest possible heart to this programme from the energetic Peruvian conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Grazyna Bacewicz’s Concerto is a typically exhilarating and inventive workout for the ±«Óãtv SSO’s strings, from one of 20th-century Poland’s most undeservedly neglected geniuses. And Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony is an impassioned, storm-swept outpouring of melody and emotion, in which he fearlessly stakes his claim to a place in the great symphonic tradition.

To be recorded for future broadcast on ±«Óãtv Radio 3.

This concert is part of the 33rd Ayr Concert Series. It is promoted by Ayr Arts Guild for South Ayrshire Council.
