Your Greatest Moments - Journey's End

One of the most epic adventures in Doctor Who's history, the finale to Series Four brought together Donna, Davros and an 'army' of the Doctor's companions. Find out what made it so memorable for you...

The season 4 finale proved to be one of your most popular episodes. Many people loved the farewell scene where Wilf salutes the Doctor. Matt hailed it 'Powerful stuff' and Ian called it 'Understated, brilliant, and moving... (It ) Never fails to move me.' Imogen agreed: 'With the music and the rain falling down over the Doctor... you see the sadness and pain in his eyes... In this moment you see what it really means to be the Doctor, the pain and grief that he has endured and that continues to be thrust upon him. This is why this is my greatest moment.'

Sam also loved this scene ("I was in tears") and adds that Wilf 'is my favourite character'. There's a lot of love for Wilf out there!

There were other moments in Journey's End that people enjoyed, such as the 'meta-crisis Doctor' meeting Donna. 'Never fails to make me smile', says Rose (presumably not that Rose!) and many people also relished the Doctor's confrontation with Davros.

But the clip we're bringing you is from the uplifting moment where the TARDIS, that beautiful, battered old time machine pulls Earth back to her rightful place in the universe.

Fiona declared, 'It was such an exhilarating scene and I never stopped smiling and laughing with joy! This was truly one of the greatest episodes of Doctor Who'. Chloe was equally enthusiastic, commenting the scene made her 'sooo happy that I was giggling all night!' and Mark was fulsome in his praise: 'Great moment. Great music. Just a fantastic bit of telly'. Another Mark applauds the moment where 'Martha gives that little smile to the camera... makes me smile every time!' (Hurray - we love that bit, too. How lovely does Martha look with that joyful beam?)

Jared eloquently summed up the scene's appeal, 'the music, the acting... everything about the scene is exploding with happiness'! And Matthew said simply that the moment, 'shows how moving Doctor Who can be and what a great show it is.'
