World Cup 2006 Blog

From our reporters in Germany

Svan goes racing - the movie!

MartinHEIDELBERG - It's another fine morning in Germany and I think my adrenalin has finally stopped pumping after the Hockenheim experience, but it'll get going again ahead of the England game, I'm sure.

Check out our video of Svan tackling the turns of a Grand Prix circuit - I wonder what our advanced driving instructor Ronny would think of it...

I don't think Michael Schumacher has got anything to worry about. Good effort though and who knows, you may have inspired a Camper Van Grand Prix series!

What an absolute waste of tax payers money! Blogging is great when done well but this appears to be blogging for the sake of it. Blogging is fashionable, and when we are left to watch 'Fletch' and 'Ricco' driving around in a van, that is just about all it is.
What a waste of money at a time when ±«Óãtv budgets are tight. There is no value here for the viewer / tax payer whatsoever!

Dear Dave

You seem to have no sense of fun. What you don't like another person will, so please stop trying to impose what you would like on others.

ANYWAY

Good work fellas! Did the tyres squeak when you were turning? What was rattling in the back? And most importantly, did you have the smell of burning ruber/oil when you started like you can on a Scalextric set?

GO SVAN GO!

"...yes..."

"...well why don't I drive round a racing circuit in a van at moderate speed and run it back twice as fast. That'll be cool"

Nerdboy succeeds in making a boring blog modertaly entertaining. Thanks. With so many interesting aspects to this exciting competition, why the need for an exhausted (excuse the pun) and tyred (sorry) idea that is wholly unrelated and even Top Gear would have binned?

I'm sure the bbc is paying these two lads an absolute FORTUNE to write their blog. It probably runs into the hundreds of thousands.

1. That was top class.

2. Dave Moanihan and others - this is a blog about two football fans in a campervan enjoying themselves.

3. And to be fair, it's licence payers' money the boys are wasting, not tax payers. Keep it up!

4. Now I've defended you, Fletch and Ricco - what about a visit to a Lederhosen shop? You can use my 1/20,000,000th of the licence fee budget.

What a waste of time when ±«Óãtv budgets are being used to generate a bit of light (entertainment, that is). There is no value here for the reader whatsoever!

(To the disgustedoftunbrigewells crew - a hint - if you don't like it, don't read it! Instead see the overall context within which this exercise sits.....still, being in Sweden I'm not paying a ±«Óãtv TV licence so muwahaha!)

How entertaining the English are! They'd find anything funny. I really shouldn't be here but came to see what you thought about Rooney, instead you're all yapping about...some silly joy ride. Rooney will take time to get in form, but the England team REALLY needs him. Forget all about attacking midfielders. England can do it, lets see.

heyhey! Nice acceleration that camper has, I'd like to see SVAN do it in reverse... Dave should seriously lighten up. Not like putting the cash into another production would be more profitable for him. Wishing I was experiencing a European summer at the mo, what with all the football going on! Stuck down in SA unfotunately, but GO England GO!!!
