Mexican magic

mandeep_sanghera.gifThe sombreros are out and waves of green are flowing through Nuremberg which can only mean one thing – El Mexicana are in town.

And aren't they letting the locals know they've arrived for the game against Iran on Sunday!!

They forced the temporary closure of a main road in the city centre on Saturday after gathering outside the hotel in which their squad are staying.

A rhapsody of songs to encourage Mexico's team followed and they then started to dance the day away as music blared out from a stage erected in the city's square.

Fans from other countries also joined in the party atmosphere but, for those of a calmer disposition, pan-pipe musicians were at close hand to sell CDs of their soothing sounds if the pumping dance music was a bit too much.

Living in the States, I can appreciate the passion the Mexicans have for the game and their level of enthusiasm.

So much so, that whenever the United States plays a home match against Mexico, it's considered an "away" match because the Mexicans always outnumber the US fans and take over the stadium.

Cheers,
The Gaffer

Just one comment about the incorrect use of the term El Mexicanan, first of all I dont understand in what scence it is used, and in spanish it is missed spelt. It should be Los Mexicanos as in ther mexicans. If you are going to use a work in another launguage please check it up before you use it (what a school boy error)

Mexico start fine against fierce opposition. But that's the "MEXICAN SYNDROME," historically they have played better against "big opposition," such as Germany and Italy.

Today, they demonstrated to be a much more mature team, players who have come a long way (and beating Brazil, too boot). Iran was perfect brew to get the best out of this Mexican team, El Mexicano. 3-1 is a big win.

¡VIVA MEXICO! ¡BRAVO!! ¡Zinha! ¡Márquez!

Watching the game in Los Angeles with friends and family. My best friend, Parsi, a British-born Persian and I are feeling fantastic after the game. Mexico showed world class finishing and is on track to exit the group stage.

VIVA MEXICO!!!

All is well here in America we are waiting for tomorrow's games USA-Czech Republic and the Italy match, let's hope those squads demonstrated the same quality.

That's all, I return to more World Cup drunkeness here in Los Angeles. The ±«Óãtv has the best English broadcasts for the tournament.

After what can only be called a "tentative" start, Mexico showed some promise in the match vs Iran today. The passion of the Mexican fan is well rewarded !!

Here, in Tucson, Arizona, the shouts and cheers could be heard all over the city. The match decided, fans took to the streets honking their horns, waving the 'Tri-Color' and exclaiming "VIVA MEXICO!!!"

Well, time for a taco and a cervesa!! good luck you all!!

A lot years ago (early eighties), Mexican were called by other notMexicans living in Mexico "little green mouses", because, always loss the game in the last minute, (remember Mexico´86 in front of Germany). I´m very impressing that now, the little green mouses are converting, in the "Darth Eagles of América", in a reborning of Aztec and Mayan race, The little Indian of central america has been converting with a good alimentation and study in a very good foot-ball players, Mexico will a world leader and will retake his place in North America, (Texas, Arizona, Nuevo Mexico,California and La Florida were Indian Territory --not spanish territory-- and the spirit of "Toro Sentado", "Gran Jefe Apache", "El Mohicano", "Caballo Loco", and the empire leads like "Moctezuma", or "Cuahutemoc", are reclaiming his land.
If you want to have a very loyal and noble friend, just say to a Mexican..VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!!, HECHATE UN TEKILA CONMIGO!! Or COMPADRE CHINGATE ESTA CERVECITA CONMIGO!!, and you will get.
Kind Regards.
