Glaslyn chick hatches
Glaslyn's breeding osprey pair passed a major challenge this morning with the hatching of their first chick in the brood.

While two eggs remain, the chick was been seen fully emerged, bald and blind today (Wednesday 13 May).
Geraint Williams, Osprey Project Officer for RSPB Cymru, said, "The new arrival is completely bald, still wet and absolutely tiny, as you would expect from a chick that is just a few hours old. Later today, its eyes will open properly and it will have a first feed, which should be great to watch."
This year is the pair's sixth breeding season at Glaslyn.

Its well worth a visit to the RSPB Glaslyn Osprey Project/Date with Nature Visitor Centre at Pont Croesor near Tremadog, Porthmadog, to see the proud Osprey parents feeding their young - brilliant pictures on the big screen from the camera high above the nest.
