Sheen pulls (White) Rabbit out of hat for new film role

Michael Sheen is well known for his portrayals of prominent figures such as Tony Blair, Sir David Frost and most recently Brian Clough in The Damned United, but his latest acting role couldn't be more different.

Sheen voices the character of the White Rabbit in the new Walt Disney Pictures/Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland, an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's surreal children's adventure. The film is released in UK cinemas on Friday 5 March.
The Port Talbot-born actor says of the White Rabbit: "He's a warm character, but at the same time he can be quite fussy and quite strict with Alice as well.
"He has an edge to him, a nervous energy, always feeling like he's behind time, time is very important to him. But he's quite brave when called upon.
"I wished I could have put the suit on and run around with the ears and the tail... Unfortunately, I just got to be in a sound studio doing the voice."Other British actors that have voiced characters in the film include Stephen Fry (Cheshire Cat), Alan Rickman (Blue Caterpillar), Sir Christopher Lee (the Jabberwocky), Barbara Windsor (Dormouse) and Timothy Spall (Bayard the bloodhound).
