William Crawley | 20:24 UK time, Tuesday, 29 April 2008

Barack Obama's former pastor has found a suitably diplomatic response to the controversial triggered by his sermons at the Chicago church attended by the Obama family. What a moron. People attacking him are attacking the black church? Last I checked, black churches were some of the biggest in America, broadcast on TV and enjoying complete freedom to operate as they do. Wright is a leftwing zealot without the wherewithal to think for himself and preferring to toe the line politically-speaking; he's done no favours for Obama either and it's no wonder Obama is desperately trying to distance himself from him today.

John I don't really see your point. Wright is leftwing, that's hardly a criticism, but it's factually not true to say he cant think for himself. He is a very bright man, with a string of proper degrees. I agree that he has harmed Obama, though that's no bad thing in my opinion. I want to see John McCain elected but I don't believe Jeremiah Wright is a moron. He is just making his own views clear. He's entitled to do that. I don't support the war in Iraq and I think America has made some trouble for itself in the middle east. None of that justifies 9/11, and I don't think Wright was trying to justify 9/11. He was trying to explain why violence can elad to more violence. Ending violence everywhere is the answer. John McCain is not the best choice fro president but at this point he's the best one left in the contest.

PTL- It isn't a coincidence that Wright's zealotry sounds exactly the same as every other black leader with an anti-American axe to grind and a sense of entitlement. That's my point: if he has brains he isn't using them to come up with any original views on matters of political importance (and it's his bigotry that has him in hot water).

"Wright is leftwing, that's hardly a criticism"

    I meant it as one.

"Ending violence everywhere is the answer"

    Agree!
