Here at ±«Óãtv Comedy HQ we've noticed a lot of love for Twenty Twelve, so we wanted to be the first to break the good news...

Twenty Twelve will return for a second series.

That's right, our cameras will continue to follow the Olympics Deliverence team as they sprint closer and closer to next year's main event.

Ian Fletcher, Head of Deliverance says: "Obviously I think damage has already been done to the smooth-running of our department by allowing the ±«Óãtv cameras in. Personally, I don't want it to continue. But upstairs says it's going to. So that's all good."

In the second series the pressure mounts as the team try to navigate their way through such delicate issues as:

  • How to handle the Algerian team's demand for a mosque in the Olympic village.
  • How to carry out a Legacy Audit on the rival bids for the Stadium when no-one knows what a Legacy Audit is.
  • Budgetary concerns such as how to deliver value for money when there isn’t any money.

The only thing that’s certain is that the clock (at least when it’s working) will continue to tick inexorably downwards as this small group of men and women paddle even faster in their efforts to deliver the greatest show on earth.

Executive producer Jon Plowman said: “We are really delighted that we have been granted permission to follow the Olympic Deliverance team again as they near the climax of their deliverance."

Until the second series, let's not say "goodbye." No, let's just say "on your marks, get set, adieu."

Don't miss the final episode of this series (Monday 18th April, 22.00 on ±«Óãtv Four).

Can the team put these controversial #TwentyTwelve tweets in the past before Series 2?

Don't get suckered into buying fake tickets just because we're 'between series'.

Will these London landmarks get converted into Olympic Venues before the team return?

A second series? Good grief. A poor copy of the Australian ABC's "The Games" with a cast of regulars who are essentially one-joke characters. It worked for Morton in "People Like Us" with one-off eps in which the one-joke characters couldn't wear out their welcome. Stretching them to six eps, as in "Twenty Twelve", their shallowness is quickly exposed.

This is great news, I absolutely loved the series and am glad it has been so well received! Great characters and hilariously dry humour meant I loved every episode

Very good news to hear of a second series. I enjoyed each episode a lot with a funny script and set of characters, excellent observational acting and good production values. OK, not necessarily ground-breaking or totally innovative, but who cares, it still gave me lots of pleasure and I look forward to more episodes.

Great loved this series, or as Dave Wellbeck would say 'great stuff'. Try to ignore all the moaning Australians.

This series has really grown on me and is laugh out loud funny. The humour is very subtle but very British and the characters are brilliant and accurate. But why was it been scheduled at this late hour ... its like Mad Men ... the ±«Óãtv just don't what people to see it ...

Absolutely brilliant - I am so glad there's to be another series, the first was magic. Anyone who's ever project managed will recognise the core of truth in both the script and the characters - honestly, so typical! Can't wait for the new series .. its all good!!

So glad to hear that they are making a second series. Thought the first series was hilarious, there isn't enough comedy on television like this anymore. Well done to the ±«Óãtv! This is why we pay our TV Licence, one very happy customer!
