Maroon 5OPEN LETTER TO HIM OUT OF THE MACAROON 5
Hey Adam, how's tricks? You been keeping well there? Been on tour? Been taking your unique brand of popstrokerock out to the people who made you what you are today? Been seeing the whites of their eyes? Making some connections? Rockin' some halls, yeah? Been living the life of the succesful popstrokerock star? Chicas for breakfast? Jack Daniels for dinner? Yeah?

OK, enough pleasantries. What's going on with your voice these days, fella? You did always have a touch of the helium poodle to your vocal stylings in the past ('This Love' being a prime example), but it was always helped along with a decent committed performance. No matter how preposterous the song, you always managed to sound like you meant it..

So, the question I have to ask you is this...what happened? You sound actually asleep throughout most of this. It sounds like it would be too much of an effort to even open your mouth properly when you're singing. It sounds like you really don't care about whatever it is you're singing about here, and so why should you bother to put your back into it?

And to make matters worse, it sounds like your band are really overcompensating, by playing this anthemic number with as much a fire and passion as they can muster. And it's a decent song they're playing too, it's got 'Every Breath You Take' verses and that big modern anthemic rock chorus, you know, the one which is part 'I Don't Love You' by My Chemical Romance and part 'Yellow' by Coldplay. All it requires is something approaching awakeness from the singer, and that, my friend is where the problem lies.

So, you're not just letting me down, you're letting your fans down, you're letting your band down, and worst of all, you're letting yourself down.

Now go back, give yourself a quick wipeover with a VERY cold flannel, and bloody sing it properly, boy!

Yours Sincerely,
