Naomi Wilkinson asking Steve Backshall questions with a camel in front of him

Steve and Naomi during last week's Beat Backshall

We tried distracting Steve in last week's Beat Backshall by placing a massive camel directly in front of him. However, Steve stillÌýmanaged to prove his awesome knowledgeÌýof the natural world, by getting only one question wrong. He was beaten by BlueVioletPartyCarrot's question - where would you find an aiteng? The answer is that it is an amphibious sea slug found in the mangrove swamps of Thailand or Japan.

The questions Steve got right were:

  • How many teeth does a basking shark have?
  • Answer: Nobody knows
  • Why do polar bears have such big paws?
  • Answer: To keep them off the snow, they use them like snow shoes.
  • How fast can a giraffe run?
  • Answer: 38km/hr
  • Is it true that spiders don't like conkers?
  • Answer: No it's not true

So will you be able to Beat Backshall this week? Send us your questions now!
