Description
How different amounts of money can be created by adding together a mixture of coins. Animated characters show how to make 8p from a mixture of other coins.
Classroom Ideas
This clip can be shown to help pupils explore more complicated situations of adding money. Pupils can be given a sheet whereby they are instructed to turn all of the amounts in the clip into decimal amounts. Once they have done this, they can be given problems where various items, worth the aforementioned amounts, are intended to be bought. Pupils would then have to work out the total cost using decimal addition, making use of the rule where they remove the decimal point whilst adding and then place it back in its original position once they have the answer.
