Classroom Ideas
This clip could be used to provide some background on character development for a production and the importance of developing the role in a credible way. Students could use this as a starting point for their own movement work. Students could select a fictional character who interests them and experiment with how they would reflect that character through movement. It would be a useful exercise for students to work in pairs, one taking the role of choreographer, the other as dancer, and to produce a short piece based on one of their characters. This would provide opportunity for students to develop their team work and communication skills.
