Multiples

When whole numbers are multiplied together, the answer is a multiple of each of these numbers.For example, 6 x 2=12 so 12 is a multiple of both 6 and 2.

Factors

Numbers that divide exactly into another number, leaving no remainder are called factors.

For example, the factors of 20 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 20 because they all divide exactly into 20.
