Place value and three-digit numbers
Description
Three animated characters perform a barbershop song about place value. They explain that each digit in a number has a value 10 times greater than the number on its right.
Classroom Ideas
Children could stand at the front of the class in groups of three initially. They could be given a piece of paper with a digit written on it and stand together to make a three digit number. The rest of the children in the group could be asked to arrange three digits to make the largest possible number, then the smallest possible number. The activity could be extended to using four digits.
