Example: How many stones?

calculation showing y equals 8

There are 4 stones in a pack. The path needs 32 stones.

The calculation can be written like this:

y Ă— 4 = 32

Division is the opposite of multiplication. Move all the numbers to the opposite (right) side of the equation so you can do division.

y = 32 Ă· 4

32 Ă· 4 = 8

y = 8

To make the path you need 8 packs of 4 stones.
