Artists use drawing for different purposes such as researching, experimenting, planning and documenting ideas. Drawing can take many forms, using a range of materials.

There are many different techniques and methods that can be used in drawing, such as hatching, cross-hatching, sgraffito, scribbling and stippling. They can create a variety of styles and results.

Being able to draw by observing is used throughout the GCSE course. Learn the skills of figure drawing, perspective and proportions, and apply them across all areas within your portfolio and your assessment.
