Hindu beliefs about life after death

Description

Young British Hindus explain and discuss their beliefs about life after death, karma and reincarnation. A visit to a Mandir (temple) leads to a brief explanation of Hindu views on other religions as all paths to the same God.

Classroom Ideas

This could lead to further discussion on student’s own beliefs on what happens after death. The ideas of karma and reincarnation could be contrasted with belief that we only live once and then face some form of judgement. Discuss the depiction of a variety of representations of God in the same painting at the temple shown. Does the ideas that different Gods might represent different ways of praying to the same supreme being fit with students’ own ideas?
