The Catholic Church teaches that Christ’s offers proof of an afterlife. In the week before his death and resurrection, Christ tells those he meets that he will destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days (Matthew 26:61). He is later taunted with this when he is on the cross (Matthew 27:40).
