Retaining and motivating staff

It is important that staff stay motivated at work. Motivated staff will lead to:

  • increased
  • lower absenteeism
  • higher quality production
  • lower
  • better reputation

If a company’s employees are motivated they will be more likely to apply themselves.

If workers are motivated they will take a greater pride in their work which will result in a higher quality product or service.

Employees who are motivated will be less likely to leave the company which means less time and money will be spent on recruiting and retraining new staff.

There are many methods that can be used to motivate staff. These can be divided into:

  • financial methods
  • non-financial methods
Financial (profit share, salary, bonus) and non-financial (fringe benefits, staff training, promotion) motivators
