The criminal justice system in Scotland
The criminal justice system in Scotland is made up of the following:
- police
- courts
- prison service
Each part of the criminal justice system has an important role to play from protecting the public and preventing crime, to deciding innocence or guilt and to punishing or supporting change within those who break the law.
