Can football have an impact on saving the planet?

The Regenerators take a match-day trip to Gloucestershire’s Forest Green Rovers to explore if they are the greenest football team in the world.

Here, Jonelle Awomoyi takes a closer look at how each decision the club makes has a positive impact on the environment. From using the rainwater that lands on their stadium to irrigate the pitch to a fully vegan match-day menu. How the players kits are made up of old coffee granules and reused plastic and a GPS solar powered robot that keeps the pitch in peak condition.

The club also encourage an eco-friendly ethos when travelling to the game, with charge points for electric cars available around the ground and fans being encouraged to walk or cycle to the match.
