Learn how to introduce yourself in Spanish with these useful phrases.

'What’s your name?'

To ask someone's name, use the question:

(This literally means: 'What are you called?')

Did you notice that there is an upside-down question mark at the start of the question? We have to use both question marks and exclamation marks at the start and end of phrases in Spanish.

'My name is...'

To say your name in Spanish, use the phrase:

Examples:

  • - I am called Anna
  • - I am called Gary
  • - I am called Anwar

'How old are you?'

To ask how old someone is you can say:

'I am ... years old'

In Spanish you use the verb 'to have' () to say how old you are.

- I am… years old

(This literally means 'I have… years')

'Where do you live?'

To ask someone where they live, you use the verb (to live).

- Where do you live?

'I live in...'
