"Hello, I'm a story writer. I'll tell you a true story of how these brand new trousers were unexpectedly transformed into a vampire cape.
My husband Adrian was on a weekend walking up Scafell Pike. Suddenly, paralyzing fog devoured the tourist path which was replaced by loose rocks under foot.
Anxiously, slowly, everyone moved along. Next thing, oops, argh, Adrian lost his balance and his leg went under him.
"Hello, mountain rescue, we need help."
Next, Adrian is strapped into a stretcher being hoisted down a 200 metre drop, thinking, "I'm going to slip out."
What about the vampire cape? Well, the trousers were cut at the knees and it was October. We always have a Halloween party. My son Jeff had lost a plastic cape and needed an emergency replacement. Out came the ripped trousers; snip, snip, sew, hey presto - vampire cape.
