We only ask you to create a display name if you want to do anything public on a ±«Óătv website or app (for instance, commenting on a ±«Óătv News story). Or to sign in to iPlayer on your TV.
To create yours:
1. First, make sure you’re signed in to your ±«Óătv account.
2. Then, on any ±«Óătv website, click the “Your account” icon at the top of the page. It’s in the navigation bar, near your web browser’s address bar.
3. Choose “Settings” and you’ll be taken to your personal details.
4. On the “Personal details” page find “Display name”. If you haven’t already chosen a display name it will say “None set” underneath. (But if you have, you’ll see it here and you won’t need to do anything else.) Click on “Add” to the right of it.
5. On the next page “Edit display name” enter your new display name. Remember to click “Save and continue” when you’ve finished.
6. Then it will then ask you to confirm your email / user name and password just to check it’s really you.
