'500 Words' is one of the most successful story-writing competitions for kids in the world. Its mission is to get children excited about reading and writing, regardless of their ability.

This lesson features tips and advice from 500 Words judges and top authors Charlie Higson and Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Content and resources for this literacy Live Lesson are tailored for both 5-7s and ages 7 and up to inspire pupils to create their own short stories.
