The Football Association have charged Walsall assistant manager Gary Waddock with misconduct after an incident involving a match official during their League Two game against Morecambe.

The 62-year-old, who joined the Saddlers in June 2023, was shown a red card in the 43rd minute of Walsall's 1-0 victory over the Shrimps on Saturday.

The FA have charged the former Aldershot and Wycombe manager after he "allegedly acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official".

Waddock has been given until 19 August to respond to the charge.
